American higher education is facing tremendous pressures. Shrinking
budgets for public education and ongoing political and regulatory pressure to reduce costs, demonstrate quality, provide increased access
to a changing population, and respond to workforce needs all combine into a stew of conflicting
demands and tensions that call out for new vision and transformative
action.
Under such conditions,
colleges and universities need the capacity and capability for using
data, research, assessment, evaluation, and planning to navigate the terrain. My
primary consulting interests are assisting higher education institutions with
administrative program review of IR, IE, and assessment offices, and
developing offices and processes that facilitate evidence-based decision
making, strategic planning, and change.
